#PubPDasia Singapore tribe is a bit low on numbers today, but we’re excited to dive into the AI discussion.
I have a @beebotco project I’m working on, but need a custom field, so I created these laser cut puzzle tiles that fit together in any configuration. Excited for the next step. #STEMeducation #makereducation
Singapore teachers, join us for #pubpdasia on October 10, always a great night and plenty of great minds to mingle with.
Cardboard to drawing to robotic movement. This is a little passion project to use with the Micro:bit Educational Foundation . This year I’m trying to document my process more so that I can share it with students to help with prototyping. #makereducation #microbit #makersgonnamake
Working on a servo scissor mechanism. this is a great way to show transfer of rotational movement into lateral movement. The servo only turns 180 degrees, the gears move 2.5 cm, but the arm moves about 10cm - 4 times the movement. #makereducation #makerspace #makersgonnamake
The Glowforge came in handy today to tidy up the makerspace, and help us keep track of these canary cutters. #glowforgecreations #makereducation
My design process from initial sketch, to vector file creation in @inkscapeofficial and finally cutting on the Cricut . It’s nice to see it all in one sequence. #makersgonnamake #makereducation #cricutmade Cricut_sgmy
What messages do we send students in relation to digital citizenship, modelling the behaviours we want is so important. Thank you Danai Maramba #GoogleChampions SSIS
I’m lucky enough to be at the #GoogleChampions symposium in Singapore helped create this idea wall. If you’ve ever been in an office I’ve worked in in the last 10 years you will have seen a version of this, it was really exciting to share it with others.
The “Doorknob Guard Dog” got a fancy facelift using the Glowforge . We will use this example to show students how you can increase resolution while still using the same material. #makereducation #stemeducation
Sometimes I feel like I’m living in the Matrix… but at least I have this cool poker chip I made on the Glowforge . #taketheredpill #makersgonnamake
Experimenting with bringing @procreate creations into real life using the Cricut. Excited to share these ideas with our art team. #makereducation #stemeducation #steameducation
Little bit of creative Laser fun this evening. I found some skewers and wondered if they’d make good axles for a tiny car… Glowforge #glowforge #makereducation #stemeducation
These precedent studies for dowels allow students to work out the best sizes independently. We made a lot of such things at @themv_mde, so grateful to have worked at cody carroll it's an amazing school. #makereducation #stemeducation
I’m using this image to talk to students about the prototyping process I use - 1 draw and revise - 2 cheap recycled materials check fit and revise - 3 final product in high quality material. #makereducation #stemeducation #makerspace
Quick explanation of the Micro:bit Educational Foundation moisture sensor I prototyped this week. The microbit measures the current diff in the soil to show relative moisture. #microbit #microbit projects #makereducation #stemeducation
Great to see 2 of my favourite makers, Cora Yang and Jason Erdreich recognised by Tinkercad for the work they do with students. #makereducation
The Auto Chime Dinging Noise-O-Meter powered by Micro:bit Educational Foundation , uses a microphone sensor to determine when the servo should whack the chime. A simple but really rewarding project. #microbit #STEMeducation #makereducation
I’m excited about combining the power of Micro:bit Educational Foundation and Glowforge to make a DIY moisture sensor. Excited to use this with G5. #makereducation #stemeducation
