Great first day at #HFES2020. Attended a wonderful panel about the impact of secondary tasks on driver engagement and towards the end, helped us reflect on automation in the larger scheme of driver safety. Now off to beer tasting.

Taking some inspiration from the late Hans Rosling for this week's #TidyTuesday visualisation on phone usage data. Here's my animated visualisation using #RStats, showing the change in mobile subscriptions over the years for different countries. Code: github.com/nxrunning/Tidy…

For my #TidyTuesday, this Friday evening I tried animation features. Keeping with the theme of #BlackInDataViz , I tried to show the pioneers in the field. I felt the dataset was interesting and extremely informative. As always, would appreciate feedback

You can't perform an a-priori power analysis if you don't know enough about your dependent variable. This includes its standard deviation, the % of missing data, and its distribution. >

New blog post: last Friday Rafaela Vasquez pled guilty to endangerment, making her the first human to be held criminally responsible for a death caused by an autonomous vehicle. Needless to say, this is a troubling development. niedermeyer.io/2023/08/01/r...

Here is a brief example on how you can do power analysis for a longitudinal multi-level study when you want to vary the input parameters and easily produce visual output of all variations. #rstats #openscience pgmj.github.io/powerviz.html
