The end of the applic window for an effective fung application for suppressing GIBB/DON is when the silks just begin to turn brown. However, keep in mind that late plants in the row tend to have a higher DON risk.

Corn silk morphology and chemistry is fascinating for several reasons. In the photo below, note the hairs on each silk for capturing pollen; each silk is attached to an ovule (kernel). Once a corn pollen grain lands on the silk, moisture and phytohormones cause the pollen grain

Any sorghum still standing? Time to cut it and allow the sunshine and dry weather to dry it down to ideal moisture level for harvesting. It has stop growing with the past cool nights and short days so no yield lost and get it in before frost and danger of Prussic acid!
