Unpopular opinion of the day: Requiring reading logs documenting how many minutes or pages young people read is more about compliance and exerting control than "motivating" readers or "proving" any reading occurred.

I just bought this book called Just Ask by Sonia Sotomayor and I think it’s my new favorite book!!! Such a great inclusive story about differently able kids use their strengths to work together. I highly recommend all teachers to get this book for their classroom libraries! 🥰
