The gov't has allocated $6.1B for the new Canada Disability Benefit. This funding would provide for a maximum benefit amount of $2,400 per year. However, as stakeholders have been quick to realize, that works out to just $200 per month, or $6.66 per day. ctvnews.ca/politics/6-66-…

Although the budget for the Canada Disability Benefit was disappointing, don’t give up on the CDB, we’re not. Regulations have yet to be written and there’s time to work to see funding change incorporated into the next fall economic statement and next federal budget. Keep going.

Patient Oriented Research was launched in Canada in 2011 and it was more than time to reframe the language being used for people engaged in research with an updated lens. People partnering in clinical research can be labelled as patients. Words matter.

During difficult times for newspapers our over-worked editors need a break. So there won't be an editorial page in the Gazette for the next two weeks, However, if we hit newsworthy days (like today), I'll draw cartoons anyway, and posting them on various platforms. Please share!

I think we should host these in municipalities like we do flu shot and foot care clinics. We are at a critical tipping point with 6 million Canadians without a family physician.
