The reality of seeking asylum in the UK. Will refugees from Afghanistan receive a warm welcome if they don't arrive under the Resettlement Scheme? #AsylumSeekers #HostileEnvironment #RefugeesWelcome inews.co.uk/opinion/afghan…

Despite having a lovely afternoon, we were saddened by our resident's low spirits as no real progress is being made on her asylum case - even after 6 years. We reassured that we will help, but the reality of seeking asylum in the UK often means a life being put on hold.

Is the right to work for people seeking asylum under review? Sajid Javid, 2018: yes Boris Johnson, 2019: yes Chris Philp, 2020: yes Home Office, 2021: no What's going on? Did this review ever happen? If it did where is it? #LiftTheBan

Good to know from Home Office that the vital review of the ban on working has not been forgotten. 3 years on and we're still waiting for the result. Why are people seeking asylum still being forced into poverty and unemployment? #LifttheBan independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-n…

Hosting is a powerful way to prevent people seeking asylum from becoming destitute and homeless. This project will help us raise awareness about the influential role of hosts in Wales. If you have hosted, will you share your story?

6 months since the Taliban takeover of #Afghanistan. Those forced to flee were promised #AWarmWelcome. Instead, people face criminalization under the #AntiRefugeeBill We're tired of seeing people being prevented from rebuilding a home as a result of policy. #MyHomeIs4Utoo.

Reminder: every single person in one of these cars, fleeing Ukraine to seek safety, is someone just like you. When you’re fleeing for safety there is no time to queue at the embassy. There's no form to fill. A THREAD 🧵 1/

The House of Lords voted to give people seeking asylum the right to work. This will fundamentally prevent people from becoming #destitute and will instead promote #dignity. Well done to those leading and participating in the #LiftTheBan coalition! Fantastic work 🧡✨
