First local Tornado june 30th 2015 over Oneida Lake. last local Tornado July 24th 2024 over Orwell NY and two more in between for good measure.

Not much above normal water left on Lake Ontario. atleast 30 percent of Lake Ontario is below normal now, by Labor day all the warm water should be mixed out. Upwelling on the eastern basin could cause the first Chinook Salmon to show up in the Salmon River by Thursday .

Well have a great rest of the Summer and Fall Storm people. The Salmon have now entered the River and my 3 months of 15 hour days has begun.See you all in December. insane week long upwelling event has mixed out all the summers warm water on Lake Ontario, only 2 pockets remain

Waterspout Lake Ontario

Waterspout off Stony point in eastern Lake Ontario.

Tried for Spout lightning shot last night at sunset on Lake Ontario, could have got epic bolts on a field once this storm got charged from orographic lift, but stayed with camera pointed towards a lowering on next storm. Spout/lightning chance trumped farm field bolts. so close.

What a fun couple days in Upstate NY.

I have a business that evolves around Salmon Fishing. I keep track of water temps on a daily sometimes hourly basis in late summer. Too have lost all of the 70 degree surface water by August 26th is un heard of, especially after a hot July. Upwelling is crazy this August.

Another descent Summer for Supercells on Oneida Lake.

Unusually cold lake ontario and Salmon river temps temps doing there thing. First king salmon , first coho salmon and first steelhead of the season in the Salmon River.

Posible State record pink salmon brought to my fish cutting station today. we didn't cut it, Waiting on fishery results. Could be a chinook pink Hybrid.
