Today we welcomed Aaron Phipps to our school. He spoke to the children about how important it is to have goals and to learn resilience. We enjoyed listening to his stories about overcoming barriers and taking every opportunity. He even showed us his Paralympic Gold Medal!

Yesterday, Simon Murray, author and illustrator of Icky Doo Dah, visited Year 1 and 2. He told us a bit about himself before doing some drawing. The children also had a go at doing their own illustrations using his artwork as inspiration. #illustration #simonmurray ickydoodah

On Thursday, Koalas had a lovely day at the Sustainability Centre learning about the Anglo Saxons. They looked at artefacts, played some Anglo Saxon themed games, designed an Anglo Saxon pattern on clay and tried weaving with willow.

On Friday, Year 6 were very excited about meeting Chris Lubbe after learning everything there is to know about Nelson Mandela. Chris had some incredible stories of his experience of growing up through the apartheid, and some inspirational messages handed down from Nelson himself.
