There's a tendency to dismiss the panic as ingenuine or politically motivated but I think that's not right. But nevertheless Zionists confronted with a fraction of the vitriol Palestians / Arabs / Muslims face daily completely lose their shit

This may be just what it's like to be personally invested in a hegemonic view that is in the process of losing hegemonic status, which would make it a fundamentally conservative experience and explain the resonances with US racial panics
