22 days ago Layan Nasir was taken captive by Israeli forces from her home in Birzeit in the WB. This petition has been running and despite some high level advocacy nothing has happened. Layan’s family are deeply distressed. Please sign and share.

It is massively encouraging to see Jewish people in US demonstrating powerfully against Israel’s military assault on Gaza. Also Rabbis For Human Rights group protesting the siege of Gaza by attempting to get small supplies into Gaza. Good people making a stand give us hope.

Latest news about our Anglican Al Ahli Hospital and the dire conditions in which our staff are working. Desperate and terrible times and the necessary help simply isn’t coming. UK government should be doing so much more.

It’s hard to know what to focus on right now but news of the proposed evictions of Palestinian families from Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan is so worrying and further destabilising. It’s part of the same problem of Israeli settler attacks in the West Bank.

News just in: Layan Nasir’s lawyer informed us that she will be held in Administrative Detention for four months. No charges have been presented. I commend the Guardian article for good back ground info. It is outrageous and intolerable. Also sign petition

Just to save the efforts of those who are saying that Layan Nasir’s detention is old news. It isn’t. Layan was detained for six months in 2001 and released. Now three years later, detained again. Armed soldiers cuffed and blindfolded her. Whereabouts still unknown.

Deeply disturbed and shocked that a member of our church in Birzeit in Occupied West Bank has been arrested by Israeli forces. Layan Nasir is a 23 year old Palestinian Christian. Family don’t know where she is being held. Great concern and prayers for Layan and her family.
