My husband Neil Macdonald is running the West Higland Way - 96 miles - in 24 hours(ish) in a couple of weeks. The training has been a huge commitment and he's doing amazing 💪if anyone would like to sponsor him, funds go to our local food bank & his gym gofundme.com/f/west-highlan…

Today is South Lanarkshire Council Justice Social Work's development day 💡 #CommunityJustice works best when partners across public services come together to figure out how to tackle shared issues. We look forward to hearing more from the day! #KeepTalkingUpSouthLanarkshire

Really enjoyed the SLC Recovery Orientated Support Services Justice development day, feel I learned so much and it was brilliant to meet so many service providers. A highlight was the performance by The Street. So powerful, and so inspirational!

#YJConf23 example of Glasgow Youth Court where a sheriff took the court to the child in the cells a illustrating how flexible and trauma informed approach to justice can have a real impact - the child did speak with the sheriff and then avoided negative outcome at court that day

Quote from a young person's CPO review this week when discussing the difference between adult justice/court and the Whole System Approach... "when I went there I felt like a criminal, when I go here I feel like I'm bettering myself". The right approach can make a difference 🫶

So far this week at work I've helped someone move, scrubbed someone's kitchen, appeared in court, written reports, risk assessments and of course met up with lots of young people... if you want a diverse week choose social work 😅 full day of case note catch up tomorrow...

Very inspirational talk by John Trainer at the SW Scotland annual conference… fantastic reminder of why so many of us were attracted to this profession - to help, support and advocate for people who may be vulnerable or isolated. #swsconf2024
