#BlackHistoryMonth is drawing to a close for this year. With a disproportionate amount of Black children in our #caresystems, we are striving to change the narrative by focusing on recruiting more Black and minority ethnic adopters.

#YouthWorkWeek is starting today! As a voluntary adoption agency, we recognise the importance of fantastic #youthwork. We're making a promise to continue supporting the youth workers we come into contact with, while continuing our own youth work to the best of our abilities.

There is a poignancy to World Kindness Day falling on Remembrance Sunday this year. We hope it is a reminder to all to show kindness to everyone you come across, and to remember the kindness others have shown to us.

To mark the start of #AntiBullyingWeek we wanted to remind anyone who has adopted, or been adopted, through SFCS that they can access our long-term adoption support. The theme of 2022's week is 'Reach Out', and that's exactly what we want you to do. #ReachOut

A study by the International Adoption Project showed adopted children were more often victims of bullying than children who lived with their birth families. This #AntiBullyingWeek we encourage all parents to talk with their children about the impact bullying has. #ReachOut

Together, we can change young lives. We'll be tuning in to BBC #ChildreninNeed this evening, and have been enjoying the various campaigns being held in Milton Keynes and beyond to support such a great cause. Enjoy the show! #BBCChildreninNeed

This year #UNICEF is calling for positive messages of equality and inclusion for every child, and we would like to share that children who have been adopted, are equally entitled to access support, education, jobs, and enjoyment, as any other child. #WorldChildrensDay

Adoption is a lifelong commitment, and we are with families every step of the way. Whether a parent or child is struggling mentally, a child would like to reach out to their #birthfamily, or an SFCS family simply wants to talk to someone, our support is available no matter what.
