Stepping into the street, commuters board an Interurban Electric Ry train on Lincoln Ave, at the quaint Willows stop. Though essential, re-routing trains to the Bay Bridge inconvenienced many islanders, who preferred the discontinued faster service to Alameda Pier. c. 1/12/1941

Muni #1–replaced the old Geary St, Park & Ocean RR cable car in 1912. Fun to see it on the streets this weekend (would love to see the Geary cable car again too!). Can't beat those historical transit cars!

Great fun this weekend sharing a table with our knowledgable friends from Western Railroad Museum, Western Railway Museum (worth a visit-they have exciting events upcoming)! Lots of nice people stopping to chat about cable cars, especially the little kids. They are our future supporters!
