The Trek wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible camel team. They carried the trek forward - literally! With rest days and a veterinary team ensuring their well-being, their care was just as important as the riders’. Show them love at sfcbf.org

Ten camels. Five riders. One plan. It took months of prep just to get out of Al Wajh - and within ten minutes, the chaos began. Biting camels, unseated riders, and an unfortunately placed saddle injury… Part two of Howard's blog is live: sfcbf.org/blog/blog-post…

Towering red rocks, winding wadis, and a donkey to save. This section brought landscapes worthy of a postcard, and a rescue mission we hadn’t planned for. And yes - there’s a volcano we nicknamed Big-Boob Mountain! Read the 3rd instalment of Howard’s blog cat-tunny-5jd7.squarespace.com/blog/blog-post…

We’d like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the wonderful Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba Mövenpick Hotels for hosting us for our recent celebration. We came together last week to commemorate the Trek, and to thank the Jordanians for their fantastic hospitality and support.

The Nasir, Bekri, Tayi, and Lawrence Tribute Trek relied on the fantastic NORTAC throughout. Whether it was keeping the Team connected in the desert, ensuring their safety, or allowing those of us who weren't actually trekking to keep a watchful eye, NORTAC were invaluable.

We are grateful to Iqarus for lending us the wonderful Ged, our expedition paramedic. Knowing our team were in safe hands gave us peace of mind. Watch Ged explain the prep needed for the Tribute Trek, a unique mission, but Iqarus were perfectly equipped to support us.

Last week, we had the final celebration for the Tribute Trek, at Stationers' Hall. We have been overwhelmed by the support the Trek has had, from the beginning, and we are proud to announce that, in total, we have raised over £600,000 for ex-SF members and their dependents.

A huge thank you to Al Petrie for joining us at the final celebration of the Trek. His support on the night added something truly special to the occasion - and helped us raise an incredible amount for the Special Forces Benevolent Fund. It was a fitting end to our great journey.

Last week, to commemorate the 90th anniversary of T.E. Lawrence’s passing, our team gathered at his burial site in Moreton, Dorset, to pay our respects. As part of our tribute, we brought with us sand collected during our trek from key locations along Lawrence’s historic route.

James' three golden rules for camel-riding: 1. Never choose to ride a camel with an Omani saddle. 2. There is no right way to set up a Saudi saddle but there are many wrong ways. Get over yourself and grizz it out. 3. Never ride a camel when the alternative is a nice LR Defender!
