🎉 Our CRC 1552 'Defects and Defect Engineering in Soft Matter' will be funded by DFG public | @[email protected] and kick off at Universität Mainz & Max-Planck-Institut für Polymerforschung soon, led by spokesperson Sebastian Seiffert. It will make defects new function givers in superb soft materials. Thanks to all who made this possible!🍾

Defects and Defect Engineering in Soft Matter — this is the name & goal of our new CRC. When shaping the idea, Besenius Lab & Sebastian Seiffert from our steering team co-authored a review on rich existing work in that direction; it foreshadows great perspectives. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Today, our General Body officially elected our management committee. Congrats and thanks to Sebastian Seiffert, Michael Maskos and Katrin Amann-Winkel. Moreover, we outlined our responsibility to promote sustainability in our scientific business; predominantly to minimize air travelling.
