Fascinating visit to Southwark Council’s Copeland Rd depot to meet our signmakers, see progress made on the electrification of the fleet and ways to reduce the carbon footprint of street lights. But the highlight was learning to weld and my very own name plate!

Wonderful weekend in Camberwell from attending the unveiling of Sam King’s blue plaque and hearing from his friends and family to Labour campaigning in St Giles

Speaking to the themed motion, Cllr Natasha Ennin passionately outlines the work Southwark’s Labour council is doing with our communities, partner organisations and the police to prevent crime and antisocial behaviour in our borough

Cllr Ennin and I visited the Brandon Estate following the fire at Brawne House yesterday. We spoke to residents & thanked London Fire Brigade & other emergency services for their swift response. An investigation is underway to establish the cause & vital services should be restored soon.

A huge thank you to all the emergency workers, council officers & TRA who are on site ensuring residents are safe and supported. Please note that Ilderton Rd will be closed whilst extensive repairs are completed - expected to last at least a week.

The good news is that the water has now subsided, and most of the homes in the immediate area have there water back on. Residents of the travellers site next to the site were telling me how close it came to their homes being flooded. A lot of damaged possessions.
