The Illinois State Capitol never loses its charm for me, no matter how many times I visit. The stunning architecture and rich history always leave me feeling inspired and grateful.

I am admitting defeat. This is the bird seed cylinder that was up in the birdfeeder this morning. I’ve tried all the tricks, moved the feeder, cayenne pepper, & peppermint oil. Squirrel 1, homeowner 0.

Didn’t go outside today for my University of Illinois Springfield campus walkabout, but it seems nature still found me! This little guy was taking a rest down by the PAC receiving area. I stuck my nose out just long enough to grab the photo.

I saw the sun peak out, so I seized the moment and took my daily lap around campus. It seems like it’s the week of wildlife encounters University of Illinois Springfield . I asked this little guy to share his lunch with me, but he wasn’t having any of it.
