Labor’s responsible budget management and back to back surpluses means that we can also deliver cost of living relief to Australians when they need it.

Peter Dutton is going to cut $19 billion from housing while we have a housing shortage… but don’t worry, he’s just announced he might give $5 billion back through a “new” policy that Labor already has in place🙄🙄

Having the Centre for Disease Control in Canberra is a big win for our city. It’ll boost our local economy by supporting hundreds of jobs and it’ll also mean Australia will be better prepared to manage future public health challenges.

New data from Australian Bureau of Statistics shows inflation at 2.8% is at its lowest in almost 4 years. It's back in the RBA's target band for the 1st time since 2021. Underlying inflation is at its lowest in almost 3 years. We inherited much higher & rising inflation, now it's lower & falling.

A new scorecard released today shows the gender pay gap has dropped from 21.7% to 21.1%. The main driver of the decrease in the gender pay gap is lift in wages for lower paid workers, especially in highly feminised sectors - like aged care.

Higher bills, fewer jobs, lower economic growth and a hit to the environment. That’s what Australians get under Peter Dutton’s risky nuclear power scheme.

Peter Dutton likes to pretend that you can just cut 20% of public service jobs and it won't make a difference. It's simply not true.

This is leadership. The Anthony Albanese Government is focused on Australians in SE Queensland and Northern NSW as they face a tough couple of days ahead. Our fourth responsible budget will be handed down by Jim Chalmers MP on 25th March. #auspol #auspol25

Tonight’s 60 Minutes Australia allegations of corruption & violence towards women are appalling. I will refer them to police for further investigation. Uncovering this unacceptable conduct is testament to the hard work of the CFMEU administrator & his team, appointed by the Albanese Govt.

I have spoken with the administrator tonight and he intends to investigate and take action against any serving CFMEU organisers or delegates implicated in these reports. He will also consider further action to stamp out gender violence in the industry.

As I have said before, it is clear these issues go well beyond the union - they involve criminal gangs & some labour hire firms/construction businesses. We’ve begun change, but we must continue tackling corruption, criminality & violence across the whole construction industry.
