First week as a teacher completed. I’ve absolutely loved it! I feel privileged to be a form tutor and teacher of such great students. What a week to start my teaching career with.

This was written just a month into my training year, now I’m a month into my teaching career as an actual teacher and it’s still the best job in the world! Everyday I feel to lucky and privileged, the students never fail to put a smile on my face! 🧡🙌

Last week was my most challenging week as an ECT yet, I had a really big Wobble! So this weekend I’ve decided to completely switch off and step away from school life because I’m putting too much pressure on myself and today has honestly one of the best weekends I have had! 🙌

Last week was tough! After speaking with my mentor I need to give myself more credit and celebrate the wins I’ve had this year so far and remember I am still learning and it’s all a journey! So I made a list of a the things I’ve achieved this term as an ECT and there’s lots! 👍

Getting in the Christmas spirit by writing Christmas cards for my tutor group and colleagues! 🎅🎄 I love my tutor group, such a good bunch and never fail to get involved and make everyone laugh! 🙌

Had the best mini break away in Amsterdam the past few days, with a friend, celebrating our first terms as ECTs and getting in the festive spirit 🎄🎉. It was so good to completely switch off, forget about work and just relax!

A lovely surprise in the post today! Officially part of the Chartered College of Teaching with post nominals MCCT! 🙌🎉 This just proves you can do anything you put your mind too! I was once told I’d amount to nothing, yet here I am with many post nominals, shaping the future generation 🧡🚀

Last week was the first full week back at school and I started with a complete January reset with a behaviour focus. New seating layout and plans for all class groups and reminders of basic classroom expectations - it was a good start to the term! Looking forward to this week!

My last official lesson with my Year 11’s tomorrow so I thought I’d give them a little boost as they’ve all worked so hard and sustained a phenomenal effort revising for their upcoming exams. I’ll be sad to loose my first ever GCSE RS cohort, it’s been a hell of journey! 🙌

Everyday I try to update the quote of the day and what’s in the news section of my whiteboard. My tutor group always like to talk about them and remind me when I’ve not updated them! It’s the little things that students notice as part of their routines in learning.

First day off the half term of what has been the longest, busiest and stressful term ever. However, over the moon to have been promoted to Deputy SENCo from September in my amazing school! Here’s to new challenges 🎉🙌

A family visit to Dudley Zoo today and it’s great to see this inclusive not all disabilities are visible sign! What a great initiative they are doing.
