June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to highlight the diverse history of First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples on this land. I am honoured to work with 12 Indigenous Senate colleagues and commit to joining them in taking action to achieve genuine reconciliation.

Canadians embrace the urgency to build a strong economy while needing reassurance that the government is committed to meeting its climate commitments. Today I asked Senator Marc Gold if the government will meet its target to reduce emissions by 45-50% by 2035. ⬇️

It was a distinct pleasure to join Senator Wilson in introducing drag kings, HercuSleaze and Cyril Cinder to the Senate of Canada to celebrate the start of Canada’s Pride season. This is the first time Drag performers have been introduced in the history of the Senate. 🌈

Today I stood with the Canadian Association of Feminist Parliamentarians as we relaunched the Parliamentary Civility Pledge. I signed the pledge because I am committed to fostering civility on Parliament Hill and speaking out against abuse and harassment. We must do better.
