In a new publication from our CWRU Biomedical Engineering lab in #Nanoscale graduate researcher Michael Sun shows that combination targeting of ‘active platelets+fibrin’ allows for higher anchorage of nanoparticles to clots under shear flow... pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Want to work at the interface of Electrical Engg, Biomaterials & BME? We CWRU Biomedical Engineering CWRU Engineering are recruiting post-doc researchers on a Coulter & DoD funded project to build surface-engineered electrodes for hand-held dielectric coagulometer to assess trauma coagulopathy. DM me!

Our CWRU Biomedical Engineering biotech startup Haima Therapeutics has raised ~$7M in non-dilutive funding in 2020! This has been a challenging year due to COVID-19 chaos..but it was great to re-group with the team earlier today & discuss upcoming plans. Excited to report that our collaborative team CWRU Biomedical Engineering with the labs of #PedramMohseni #MichaelSuster CWRU Engineering, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth NAVAL MED CEN PORTS & #XaTek has received a $1.8M award from Department of Defense 🇺🇸 to advance #ClotChip for POI assessment of trauma coagulopathy!

Congratulations to Dr. Sen Gupta (Anirban Sen Gupta), who has been invited to join the editorial boards of both the Journal of Thrombosis and Hemostasis (JTH) and Biomaterials (Elsevier) (Biomaterials )! ISTH

We are thrilled to announce that our student, Dr. Ujjal Didar Singh Sekhon, has passed his PhD defense! Congratulations, Ujjal!

Last group meeting of Sen Gupta Lab for 2020! As challenging as this year was (& still is) we persisted together as a team at CWRU Biomedical Engineering & Haima Therapeutics , advancing our research goals. Cannot express enough gratitude & pride for this team. Have a safe & wonderful holiday season!🎄❄️⛄️

Proud to see former Sen Gupta Lab CWRU Biomedical Engineering member Kara Hageman featured on Case Western Reserve website today! Kara did exciting research in platelet-cancer interactions & potential use of synthetic platelets in cancer therapy. She’s currently pursing PhD in Bioengineering University of Kansas!

NeutroStat is a therapeutic technology that received funding from the most recent round of CCTRP Awards. Developed by Evi Stavrou and BME Professor Anirban Sen Gupta, NeutroStat promises to improve therapeutic safety and efficacy in the treatment of venous thromboembolism.

Interested in learning more about what we do? Check out this episode of The Soft Matter Show featuring our very own Anirban Sen Gupta in conversation with @iAmAllAdhesion discussing some of our work on synthetic platelets.

Super excited to receive NOA for @nih_nhlbi R01 on a collaborative project with Jim Morrissey Wolfgang Bergmeier & #StephanieSmith to advance a new design of synthetic platelets that incorporates polyphosphates & anionic phospholipids for hemostatic function in treating trauma hemorrhage!

Very proud of Ujjal Didar Singh Sekhon who will receive Outstanding Graduate Career award from CWRU Biomedical Engineering! He did PhD research on procoagulant artificial platelets to treat traumatic bleeding. He also served as Case SFBiomaterials chapter president & organized Biomaterials Day. Haima Therapeutics
