Year 4 learned and confidently recited 'The Jabberwocky', by Lewis Carroll, as part of Selborne's Poetry Fortnight. It’s an important element of oracy to be able to perform and recite poetry by heart. Year 4 smashed it!

Today all staff and pupils have worn red clothing to ‘show Racism the Red Card’. We have joined schools all across the country as there’s no place for racism in our school.

We are so proud to be re-awarded the TFL Travel for Life Gold accreditation for all the parents, pupils and staff efforts with sustainable travel. Thanks Mrs Bryce for co-ordinating all our giant walks, stop idling, cycle to school and scooting events. Well done Selborne! 🚲 🚶‍♂️

It’s been such a wonderful day in the classroom for Year 1 today… look at their faces when actually being able to pet the animals! They LOVED it! 🥰 what an amazing start to the weekend! 🐹 🕷️

Thank you Mr Matharu for our assembly on oracy today. We liked hearing about discussion rules for each class. It is exciting to get back into our school hall for the first time collectively this afternoon too!

Both our girls’ and boys’ football teams played with great spirit and enthusiasm in their matches against Holy Family. Although they didn’t come away with a win, everyone had fun, showed excellent teamwork, and demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship throughout.

Thank you to Mrs Biswas who came into nursery to make Rangoli patterns for Diwali. Children also made some salt dough divas which we will paint and decorate as they learn about the important festival starting next week.

3 Ash performed a beautiful assembly this morning telling the important story of Rama and Sita. We wish everyone in our community a very happy Diwali - have a wonderful weekend and day on Monday if you are celebrating! 🕯️

The winning pupil designs for the pumpkin carving competition were carved yesterday! I think they are brilliant! 🎃 We grew the pumpkins in our quad allotments. Which one is your favourite? The pupils are voting…

Year 5 did wonderful poetry performances which linked to BHM and Dayna Francis's poem ' Black and British'. Children wrote their own free verse poems about their own identity. They used our oracy grouping of a semi circle to perform to their peers and then the whole class.

Thank you to our amazing PTA who put on a Halloween disco on Friday evening for the pupils. It was really good fun and just a little bit spooky! 👻 🎃

Thank you to the brilliant ISS catering team - they cooked our lunch in our newly expanded kitchen! We are nearly there with our kitchen expansion… we are all so excited to be back in our dining hall. 🥘

Thank you @kidsyogaflo and Emma Hoddy for the wonderful Diwali themed yoga session after school today. We all feel so much calmer after our superb session. 🧘‍♀️

Nursery finished the half term by planting some spring bulbs in pots in the Nursery Garden. Thank you to the kind families who donated the bulbs. The children can’t wait to see them come out in the Spring… 🌼 🌹

Some lucky UKS2 pupils went on a trip into London with Miss Uddin as part of our Black History activities. They had such a wonderful and thought provoking trip. We are so firtunate to have London on our doorstep and to be able to travel free on TFL for school trips.

It was amazing to see so many parents come to this workshop today lead by our Clinical Psychologist. Thank you for working with us here to support your child in the best way possible. ⭐️
