A stunningly broad coalition has come out against Skynet: AI researchers, faith leaders, business pioneers, policymakers, NatSec folks and actors stand together, from Bannon & Beck to Hinton, Wozniak & Prince Harry. We stand together because we want a human future.

ALLEN: Christians reject the push for superintelligence bc they see it as an attempt to create a digital god to replace the real one. Even atheists oppose it, knowing it would undo centuries of trying to remove religion. The only ones who benefit are tech oligarchs.

In case the subpoenas to nonprofits weren't bad enough: Cristina Criddle reports that OpenAI asked the grieving family of Adam Raine, who died by suicide after support from ChatGPT, for a full list of invitees to the funeral and all photos and eulogies. Ghastly stuff.

I didn't think that OpenAI could go lower, but using scare tactics to intimidate a grieving family whose son died at the hands of its technology is disgusting. Sam Altman is demonstrating once again that he doesn't care about the people who are affected by his company's

Really makes you wonder if you can take OpenAI comms at face value! Unless they're playing word games and their deepest sympathies for a grieving family aren't actually very deep at all.
