I wouldn’t accept a referral from a medical student - so I do wonder why I’m expected to accept them from trainee ACPs. One has a supervision requirement, the other has unbridled confidence - neither has the training to do so.

Direct from the GMC, any safety measure that only *reduces* risk rather than eliminating it completely is useless and probably shouldn't exist.

21 years experience on what foundations? If you sat someone that had never been to medical school in a cardiology ward for 21 years they might learn one or two things but it does not make someone who can do the job of a doctor.

ED amazes me, there’s an ACP I’ve thought was a doctor all this time. PAs and ACPs everywhere, all claiming they’re not replacing doctors, all claiming they’re complementary and all doing the exact same thing a doctor does with their day (but to a worse quality for more money)

Secret Physician Lucy B Most ACPs reach the level where they do tasks sometimes done by doctors more slowly than doctors. At least 2 degrees lasting 6 years plus years of clinical experience. Medical school gets you to that level more quickly and with further opportunities to progress.
