Portsmouth FC History Channel Dean Maskell The Milton End not enough? The council have to judge by NPPF and their planning policies as they always have done, but have always seen the wider benefit PFC has on the city. The Local Plan (existing & emerging) both promote development of the area to the benefit of the club.

Dean Maskell I definitely feel external funding is required, as any new development of the ground is very much a long term investment. It’s not an investment for the here and now, but rather an attitude of willing to take a loss for the greater good in the long run of the club.

Portsmouth FC History Channel Dean Maskell Last planning application made by PFC was earlier this year for the water storage tank in the northwest corner of the ground. Application approved. In last 5 years approved applications include the Milton End, the TV gantry and Jimmy Dickinson statue.

Portsmouth FC History Channel Dean Maskell Eisner comes from a country where the municipality build the local stadium. We don’t do that in this country but PCC have approved every planning application PFC have submitted (barring one Milton End app in 1990) since the 1960s.

Dean Maskell BLUE ARMY Yes and what an investment that was. We’ve waited a lifetime for the club to be moving forward sustainably, not like Deacon, Gregory, Mandaric, Gaydamak where you move forward till the money runs out then are in a crisis. I’ll take this over that any day.

Neil Dean Maskell You’ve missed the point. They refused to pay the full £15k because they believed others should contribute. Hence why I believe they will want outside investment to pay for a stand that Cullen believes will be 10’s of millions.

BLUE ARMY Dean Maskell Yes. They would say that so far we look much better equipped to handle it. I’d agree with that. But the key thing is no amount of impatience is going to change their strategy. I find it enraging how long it’s taking, I want 30,000 seats NOW. But that’s why I’m not rich.

Dean Maskell BLUE ARMY They would also say get into the EPL, plan to stay there, build a couple of stands and a cat 1 academy. And as I say, progress at a slow, steady pace is working - so why change? In football you need time money & expertise. More time & expertise requires less money.
