eluxoso Justin Bobby Manzi Yeah, it does. Otherwise Canvot isn’t registered as a proper PL player either cause I haven’t seen the paperwork. You absolute retard🤣

ROY 🎧 We’ve bought Jaydee Canvot this summer. Guehi is our captain, he’s ever-present, he’s been transformational on and off the pitch, he’s outstandingly consistent. Tony Bloom can do what he wants; my point is that we won an FA Cup in which he was pivotal.

AspenCPFC Not necessarily true! CB’s who aren’t as brave cannot pass backwards, as you say, but they still can choose to move laterally & opt for short passes side to-side instead of moving vertically. Canvot doesn’t seem to do this very often 👍🏽

When compared to Palace’s other new signings, Jaydee Canvot has the least experience. However, he’s ready to contribute. He’s a French youth international & highly regarded in scouting circles. He’s able to provide depth in the PL & starts in Conference League. Thank you!🟥🟦

DISCIPLINE Poor Def. Errors at CM is due to one single mistake. This can happens with small sample sizes, so context must be included. Overall, Canvot is a player who is positionally sound. He needs to improve timing of tackles, but this is certainly fixable with a young player

Nostalgia Merchant Or, keeping Guehi made Glasner very happy, Riad gets fit, Canvot gets 1st team ready, @cpfc signs another cover CB in January and Glasner wins it all. Then... OG signs a new contract. All likely scenarios!

DEFENSE Canvot excelled defending against dribblers. He used pace, IQ, & positioning to win over 3/4 of these challenges. While elite aerially at CM, Canvot struggled in the air at CB. This shows he was great off goal kicks, but needs to improve defending crosses into the box.

POSSESSION While not terribly involved in builds, one thing sticks out for Canvot: his ability on the ball is quite strong for a player of his size & relative inexperience. Canvot shows confidence with the ball at his feet & has the athleticism to shield & avoid tacklers

PASSING I like to think of Canvot as capable of playing CM, but he’s definitely more suited as a CB. His numbers reflect that. Canvot was never overly attacking or progressive in midfield, opting for safer, shorter passes. As a CB, however, he was more vertical & creative.

Last season, Canvot played 10 matches at CB & 5 at CM. It’s statistically misleading to rank Canvot against other CB’s when 1/3 of his starts came at CM You’d need someone to isolate his CB & CM matches, then rank them accordingly Luckily, your Floridian pal has you covered 🫡

Always savvy for a club of Crystal Palace’s size to sign versatile players capable of playing multiple roles/positions. Jaydee Canvot is such a player Getting his start as a CM in France’s famed Clairefontaine Academy, Canvot showed ability once shifted to the back line! #CPFC

We knew he wouldn’t sign a new deal and I can’t begrudge him. We should 100% have got a replacement ready to afford Guehi’s departure but we didn’t. NOW WE HAVE TO. No fucking about, we need Canvot to be able to step up and take his place or Riad to stay fit.

Jambags HLTCO Again that is not true, did an enormous amount of work through summer, won a bidding war for Canvot from Toulouse signed 1/9 he is excellent but only 18. Palace’s recruitment is elite as is their youth development windows are dynamic the value of Guehi to them changed
