It’s rather beautiful to read the tributes to Judith Durham on her passing today, she was just so universally loved and admired. A remarkable life. Not many have such a positive impact and leave a lasting legacy of joy.
The carnival is over. Vale Judith Durham. Up there with Karen Carpenter & Linda Ronstadt for me in terms of incredible vocal talent. She appeared very humble but quite frankly deserves a state funeral - 200,000 people saw The Seekers at the Myer Music Bowl in the 1960s. #RIP
So sorry to hear that Judith Durham has passed away. She was my first musical hero, and that's me meeting her at Brisbane airport when I was 7. You brought joy to so many, Judith. rest in peace <3 #JudithDurham
Sad to hear about Judith Durham. My father referred to her as a 'proper singer.' Between 1965 & 1967 The Seekers had 2 No.1 records and 8 Top 40 hits & were the first Australian act to top the UK Singles Chart. A wonderful career and a great legacy.
The sad deaths of two female Australian icons in one week. Judith Durham had hits with The Seekers from before I was even born. And who could ever forget going to see Olivia Newton John as Sandy in Grease in 1978. Both legends. RIP.
