Belties might just be the most functionally effective breed in Britain This year’s calving: 100% unassisted births 100% live/healthy calves 100% good mothers 0 meds/drugs 0 bought feed 0 housed 0 losses It’s been like this pretty much every year - they are awesome cattle

Ruth from Dublin sent us these pics of a Bee orchid & Pyramidal orchid on verges beside an industrial estate. These precious native wildflowers rely on a symbiotic relationship with fungi in the soil Reduce mowing & help wildflowers grow naturally, no seeds needed!

Studies show that many 'wildflower' seed mixes contain non-native species & can inadvertently introduce invasive species Mow less, remove grass clippings, & local wildflowers will grow naturally. It takes time, but it's worth the wait #PatienceNotPackets

Watched this Irish hare along a quiet country road this morning. It approached me without realising I was there. What a special encounter with a wild creature. It came right up to my foot!

A Slow Worm (Anguis fragilis) that was almost stumbled upon during a walk in the Burren. One of Ireland’s two reptile species. Although it looks like a snake, they are actually a type of legless lizard (They've even got a detachable tail!). County Clare, Ireland.

Fenugreek and okra can remove up to 89% of microplastics from water. These everyday food plants outperformed the synthetic chemicals currently used in water treatment facilities. It's increasingly evident that microplastics are everywhere. These tiny plastic fragments

More Coelioxys (Sharp-tailed Bee) activity by the bee-hotel in our #Staffs garden. These are very difficult to differentiate (for me certainly), so no idea of species. According to Steven Falk's Flickr pages, I should have got a shot of the underside too! #Bees
