This is me paddling around the northern point of mainland Scotland (Britain) yesterday. I was lucky enough to have a new paddling friend join me for the day. It was lovely to have his company.

The gannet colony at Troup Head is very impressive, especially from a sea kayak. After paddling there last weekend I did wonder what impact avian flu had had. Here’s a good update from RSPB Scotland with how the colony is doing this season.
