Excited to see my PhD research highlighted in PNASNews. We attempted to engineer the rhizosphere microbiome through a multi-passaging method to enhance the resilience of V. radiata against salinity stress. A step closer to climate-resilient crops! PNAS pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

Terrorists launched an attack that killed dozens of Indian citizens. India had every right to retaliate and defend itself. Pakistan does not get to play the victim. No country gets a pass for supporting terrorist activity.

More resources, less diversity? Our new preprint reveals that increasing resource diversity can reduce microbial biodiversity—contrary to classical ecological theory. Luckily, we understood why this happens. Read more: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… #MicrobialEcology #Biodiversity

Microbial communities can harbor many species that do not coexist in pairs, yet can coexist in the full community. Here we provide the mathematical foundations of emergent coexistence, and explain why it can't be predicted from pairwise tests biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

I know very few people left here but I have a question: many research lines show cultivar specific microbial communities in soil. Is it always important to varify this with your own samples or just assuming it be the case would be alright? Not always possible to sequence them.

How may theoretical ecology & evolutionary theory push microbiology forward? At Environmental Microbiology, I am commissioning a series of Perspectives exploring that question. Excited to share them in the 🧵 below
