Without involvement, there is no commitment. Write it down, asterisk it, circle it, underline it. No involvement, no commitment.

The more genuine the involvement, the more sincere and sustained the participation in analyzing and solving problems, the greater the release of everyone’s creativity and their commitment to what they create. ~Covey

Each of us tends to think we see things as they are, that we are objective. But this is not the case. We see the world , not as it is, but as WE ARE, or as we are conditioned to see it. #ParadigmParalysis

The more closely our maps or paradigms are aligned with principles or natural law, the more accurate and functional they will be.

I believe that we are embryonic and can develop and release more and more potential, develop more talents. Related to this principle of potential is the principle of growth-the process of releasing potential and developing talents

If you don't let a teacher know at what level you are by asking a question or reveling your ignorance you will not learn or grow. You cannot pretend for long, for you will eventually be found out. Admission of ignorance is often the first step in our education!

Is it possible that my team mates are not the real problem? Could I be empowering their weaknesses and making my life a function of the way I am treated? Do I have some basic paradigm about my team mates, team, about what trust really is? Is that feeding the problem?

Travis Reed (@sdlc101) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Knowing I need to listen, and knowing how to listen is NOT enough. Unless I WANT to listen, unless I have the desire, it won be a habit in my life!

I suggest that you shift the paradigm of your own involvement in this material from the role of learner to that of teacher. Take an inside out approach, and read with the purpose in mind sharing or discussing what you learn with someone else within 48 hours after you learn it.

The kind of reaction that results in people 'throwing off their shackles,' becoming 'liberated,' 'asserting themselves,' and 'doing their own things' often reveals more fundamental dependencies that cannot be run away from. Failure is an event, not a person or a team!

If you adopt a pattern of life that focuses on golden eggs and neglects the goose you will soon be without the asset that produces golden eggs. Or if you only take care of the goose with no aim toward golden eggs, you soon won't have the wherewithal to feed yourself or the goose.

What do we reflect to others about themselves? How much does that reflection influence their lives? We can invest in the Emotional Bank Accounts of others, our teammates. The more we can see people in terms of their potential, the greater our teams! #Retrospective #Growth #People
