Parenting is a lonely thing. Navigating parenting with being a foster parent is a deep aching loneliness I feel like no one gets it unless you are in the depths yourself.

I will always be lost + I have known that in my heart since I was a little girl

I have a lot of my fathers facial features & the veins on my nostrils are starting to turn more visible & it just feels like a weird reminder that no matter how much you try to escape, something holds you down

It takes a strong hand & a sound mind

If you would of told me X amount of years ago that in 2025 I would have two kids that make me deep belly laugh daily by them just being them, & getting to love then unconditionally- I would of said your lying. But here I am… laughing daily.

It’s the way I have had 8 bear claw donuts in the last two weeks… I will never not be hyperfixated on them from time to time in my life, they are just the best donuts ugh

Fostering can be summed up by this: get so excited that a child that’s been in your home for 6 + months, starts suggesting TV shows / movies that they want the family to watch together & they fall asleep in the middle of it. Because feeling safe is better than a movie.
