Fact check. Well, it's just not true. It's what you might call false. The committee voted against officers' recommendation to approve, but there was no actual vote to refuse the plans. Councillors instructed officers to come back to the next meeting with reasons to refuse.

AdamPostansLDR (@adam_ldr) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Tom Renhard Tom, that's a nonsense. The facts couldn't possibly support a headline or article that says the plans were rejected, as there was no vote to reject the plans There have been previous committees that resolved to reject plans. This was not the case here.

AdamPostansLDR (@adam_ldr) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Tom Renhard Dude, it's not a rejection. There have been previous DC committees where a motion to reject plans has received a majority. In those cases, "plans to reject" is a totally valid phrase, even if they have to come back to committee for refusal reasons. This just didn't happen here.

Nothing says Marvin Rees has switched off like choosing to attend a Lords event than Cabinet. Disrespectful of his office, never mind council taxpayers. Could this hurt @ThangamMP in #Bristol Central?Could his legacy be a lost Labour seat? youtu.be/44oGZvaWUaU?si… via YouTube

Welcoming me back to City Hall today for the first time since Asia, a councillor told me absence makes the heart grow fonder. Funny, didn’t feel an ounce of that about this place. #321AndHesBackInTheRoom

Count Binface announces he's standing in Richmond against Rishi Sunak – though still not at ease among humans, the power-hungry candidate from another world said he looked forward to meeting Binface

Dear Kier Starmer (Parody) When will you tell Dan resign from West of England Mayoral Combined Authority? You’ve previously said MPs should not have second jobs. The West of England mayoral role is not a part-time holiday job, it pays £77,000 on top of MP basic of £91,346. Will Dan’s dog be left running WECA?

Well here is the register of interests for @votedannorris. Surprises? His West of England Mayoral Combined Authority salary is £7798.33. X 12 he is on £93,579.96. Not £87,000 previously made public. Quite a big leap from when he started, £67,000 according to reports. He also has time to chair a charity!

Andrew Lynch @votedannorris West of England Mayoral Combined Authority Interesting.. I've been saying that he was on around £178,000 with being the WECA Mayor & being an MP, when in fact he's on nearly £185,000.. Points West report about his £20,000 a year pay rise taking his pay from £67,000 to £87,000.. what is it with Labour Mayors a pure greed.

Andrew Lynch (@andrewtlynch) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Teejay @votedannorris West of England Mayoral Combined Authority Somehow a pay rise has occurred without publicity, it seems. I don’t know enough about the mechanisms of WECA. But it would have to be approved by three council leaders. As Joanna P. Booth points out, 120 hrs a month is 30 hrs a week. When did it become a part-time job?

This is comedy gold. The CEO of West of England Mayoral Combined Authority says an arena is about to open. They haven't even started building it! How stupid does he think we are? Very, I suppose. He is a public servant. He should not have appeared in this promo. x.com/WestofEnglandC…

Chopsy Bristol They're just about to appoint an exec director of housing on about £160k. They're appointing Directors of Transformation all over the shop. All this extra management will cost us a fortune. What's it for?

Bristol Citizen Chopsy Bristol "What's it for?" BCC is spending an extra £4.2 million this quarter due to not having required fire alarms and other safety measures in place. Having someone competent in charge should prevent that in future.
