Not a coin that I ever expected to find in the fields and yet, here it is. Whether it was brought here as a souvenir perhaps or by a prisoner of war, we’ll never know. It’s dated 1938 so there’s a chance it may have arrived before the war began I suppose

I was right! Definitely Roman. There’s a right facing bust wearing a radiate crown but as for who the Emperor is, I’m afraid I don’t know. Still a tangible piece of real Roman history and that’s all I can ask for. I love it 😬🕺🏻❤️

And finally my first Roman denarius of #harvest25! I haven’t had a confirmed ID as yet, but I believe it could be the Roman Emperor Vitellius who only ruled for eight months, from 19 April to 20 December AD 69!! 🤯🕺🏻😂😂

For 2 years I’ve been unable to detect due to one reason or another. I genuinely wondered if I’d ever get out again at one point. I’m so bloody happy that I was wrong 🙏❤️

Wow! Now that looks old! I’m thinking late Iron Age or early Roman button and loop fastener perhaps. I’m hoping it is 🙏 #ItsNotTheStarshipEnterprise

Leanne’s laid claim to the antler as she seems particularly fond of it. I show her all sorts of treasures that I’m able to unearth and she doesn’t bat an eyelid. Bring home an antler and she’s ecstatic 😂😂😂

But by far my favourite find of the day is this first century button and loop fastener. Unfortunately part of the loop has been lost to time and most likely the plough, but what an amazing artefact ❤️
