A week of rain and hail means the end of #Azalea season!

Our completely neglected artichokes never fail to flower. I think they're nicer to look at than eat, especially when they open up fully from this bud into what looks like a giant blue thistle.

Of all the beekeeping tasks, wiring frames is my least favourite. But, the girls are getting crowded, angry, and swarmy, so there's no avoiding it any longer!

Nigella, or love-in-a-mist... One if my favourite flowers. It grows a big, mostly hollow, paper thin, ball shaped seed covering after this flower.

Some amazing creations at the Queensland Museum Kurilpa Brickman exhibition! My fav is St Basil's Cathedral.

Back to work time... First week's task: Try to reduce inbox to some reasonable number having not really dealt with it since shortly before Christmas. Ugh.

Despite what I thought was a fatal method mistake, the sourdough baguettes came out ok... A bit more dense than I'd like, but edible. Discovered that, at least for my starter's whims, brown sugar can't be replaced gram for gram with white.

I wonder if I can claim my car's suspension as a work expense, while driving over the 44 speed bumps each day that the University has installed between the nearest campus entrance and my car park.

Doh! I just returned from holiday in a country w/o crunchy tough euro style #bread, I was looking forward to baking. But I clearly wasn't concentrating the last time I baked... Against all my #microbiology training, I forgot to sub my #sourdough starter! Oh well. Back to scratch.

After accidentally eating all my #sourdough starter, I had to establish again from scratch... Woohoo! It's back! Malted dark rye, white pasta dura, a light rye w/caraway, anise, orange & coriander, & of course a few mini baguettes. Probably a bit OTT but I've missed bread baking!

Sometimes there's only so much pre-audit quality management system documentation reviews I can take. Must be baking time.
