Happy to finally see this NIH-funded study published, a great collaboration between academic, government and industry labs! science.org/doi/full/10.11… Eva Harris @UCBerkeleySPH UC Berkeley MCB

Excited to share the first paper from our lab in 2025! cell.com/cell-host-micr…. Herculean effort by Gaopeng Hou, the paper demonstrates that UV-inactivated replication-defective rotaviruses can cause diarrhea in neonatal mice.

Our work co-led by Scripps Research Graduate Program students Dominic Haas & Jonathan Melamed shows that microbial tropism determines how metabolites are presented to #MAIT cells. Thanks to NIH, U.S. National Science Foundation, & NSERC / CRSNG, & Scripps Research for supporting our research!

How to find fantastic new #RNAs? The J2 antibody is the gold standard to detect, map & enrich dsRNAs. Co-led by Bou-Nader lab, Kevin Juma, Ankur Bothra & Steve Leppla’s lab, we visualize how J2 recognizes dsRNA and define its epitope, specificity & bias. doi.org/10.1101/2025.0….

Excited to share a preview on "Decoding WEEV’s host adaptation" in Cell Host & Microbe featuring papers from @AbrahamLabHMS, msdiamondlab and Daved Fremont lab. 😀😀 cell.com/cell-host-micr…

SCMB's Prof Dan Watterson & Dr Ariel Isaacs have identified the first ever nanobody to work against Hendra & Nipah viruses by blocking their ability to enter cells. Both are highly lethal viruses that currently have no approved vaccine or cure. More here - tinyurl.com/23yu6kkv
