At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Sheriff Louise Arrol KC sentenced Anthony Burke to a Community Payback Order after he pled guilty to causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving. The order includes supervision for 12 months and 150 hours of unpaid work. bit.ly/439lsJP

The Lord President asked the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs to appoint Sheriff Eilidh MacDonald to act as temporary Sheriff Principal of Grampian, Highland and Islands from 21 June 2025. Sheriff Principal Derek Pyle will retire on 20 June. bit.ly/3Hi27xp

The Lord President has appointed Lord Colbeck as Vice-Chair of the Judicial Institute. The previous Vice-Chair Lady Drummond succeeded Lord Beckett as Chair earlier this year. The Judicial Institute provides education and training for Scottish judges. bit.ly/43D1KVH
