Seven previous meta-analyses reported support for this claim.

We found the opposite…

MDC was: 🔵NIRS 12-18 %SmO₂ 🔴HR 8-12 bpm 🟣V̇O₂ 300-500 mL/min So if HR is ⬇️ by >12 bpm at the same power Or if V̇O₂peak is ⬆️ by >500 mL/min We can have high confidence that those changes reflect a true ⬆️in fitness This helps give context for uncertainty in NIRS 8/

A talent ID strategy that works... Keep as many athletes in the sport, as long as possible. If you increase the number of athletes participating, you likely increase the number at the top end of the bell curve 👇

I was recently interviewed by Mikael Eriksson to talk about endurance training, balancing work/sport, the biopsychosocial aspects of sport, female athletes, women in sport, and more. We talked so much it spilled over into two episodes! Listen here... podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/tha…

Dear FEMALE ENDURANCE COACHES. We are getting a good response to our study of coaches’ insights and predictions on endurance training. But, so far, 95% of the respondants are MEN. Please HELP! docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

Imagine there was one factor that could increase the probability of you achieving your performance goal 700%! The good news is, you don't have to imagine. A 5-year longitudinal study in Australian track and field found: Completing more than 80% of intended training time,

Mikael Eriksson and I just chatted about training above or below threshold to improve V̇O₂max and performance, interpreting group-level research to individual-level application, and how much day-to-day variability to expect in common training metrics scientifictriathlon.com/tts420/
