A great session on all things Quantum and Quantum Properties with Ashley McCarl Palmer physicswithmcp current teacher in residence at the Perimeter Institute in Canada. Loved the different stations exploring quantum properties! Can’t wait to use them. Perimeter Institute #eplus2024

Happy Birthday Nikola Tesla 🎂 You definitely left your mark on the world. You envisioned a world where electricity was ubiquitous & free. Your understanding of Electromagnetism was well beyond your contemporaries. It was great to visit your statue today on #eplus2024 Perimeter Institute

Planck’s Play-Doh! 🟣 Calculating Planck’s constant with a circuit using Play-Doh as a variable resistor. Thanks for your passion Laura Pankratz and MsTorrie♥️Physics loved the lab. Such a great time at #eplus2024 Perimeter Institute

A great final activity; A Breakout Session on all things Space w’ Ashley physicswithmcp, Chris Chris Sarkonak and Damo Damian Pope from Perimeter Institute #Eplus2024 Such a fun activity that I am looking forward to adapting to my classes. High intensity learning full of collaboration

✨Einstein+ 2024✨ at the Perimeter Institute Institute for Theoretical Physics in 🇨🇦 . This 1 week Teacher Program was truly amazing! Many thanks to the facilitators who made this week so enjoyable & a great learning experience. #Eplus2024 I look forward to sharing what I learnt.

A momentous day in the life of a Physics Teacher. Lunch with Michael landry the Observatory Head at LIGO Hanford It was great to tour the insides & outsides of LIGO alongside the amazing Jackie Bondell Jackie Bondell from OzGrav & Dark Matter Centre. We drove the length of one of the 4km arms!

Great to attend the session on Dark Matter with ✨ Jackie Bondell ✨ Jackie Bondell from Dark Matter Centre. We learnt about how Australia is trying to detect Dark Matter with the Saber South experiment. We also learned about many different ways we can engage our students in activities about DM

LEGO LIGO! This is a working Lego Duplo interferometer complete with optical components from Edmund Optics I got to present this at Ligo Hanford LIGO Hanford LIGO this week and I’m happy to report it will live in the control room! OzGrav

Collecting Muons with the Edumod Muon Detector from MDetect at 39’000 ft from Melbourne to Brisbane with Virgin Australia. The rate count went from 3.1/s at ground level to 120/s at altitude. That is a 40x increase! Alan Duffy Perimeter Institute Swinburne University of Technology

Thanks for the shout out Baader Planetarium. Love your fast filter for my Celestron RASA. I am looking forward to adding Sulphur data tonight to generate a SHO image.

The Perimeter Institute Einstein Plus program for Physics Teachers was truly a like changing experience. If you teach physics I highly recommend you apply for this program and check out all the amazing resources on the Perimeter Institute website. Thanks again Perimeter!

Great to share my Hot Wheels Physics Lab with other teachers from around Australia in a free online Zoom. As you can see in the video, students launch the cars horizontally off the bench and do all the calculations to land the car in a cup. STANSW Australian Science Teachers Association PhysicsANU

The Lego Ligo! ~ Michelson Interferometer. This was designed by myself Matt Dodds and Frank Frank. Complete with 3D printed mirror mounts & Edmund Optics mirrors.Looking forward to sharing this Jackie Bondell OzGrav Susan Scott LIGO Magazine LIGO Hanford LIGO LIGO Livingston

This is a sneak peak of Jaydah’s Yr.12 Physics project as part of her Build a Teaching Tool task. She made a Faraday Motor. Initially she used Salt Water as the conducting material, then swapped it out for Gallium which is more conductive IOP support for teaching physics Australian Institute of Physics Sydney Physics

A 3D printed AC induction motor. In the video and picture we only have 2 phases connected. Watch it spin faster.
