Hi coral experts and friends! Has anyone been diving in Belize lately or know someone that has? I have a question about coral composition there if anyone can help a student out!

I feel truly bittersweet about the potential (ongoing?) disintegration of [academic] twitter. On the one hand I've learned and connected so much here, on the other hand it can feel overwhelming, competitive, and imposter syndrome inducing at times. #AcademicChatter

Science Twitter! Has anyone used small cameras/webcams to record organisms during an experiment that they could recommend? 🎥 I want to record oysters opening and closing their valves 🦪needs to be able to save the video, have good resolution & also affordable 🙏🏻 please share!

I've seen a fair # of papers use tests for collinearity before doing a GAM.. If the relationships are nonlinear, is that ok? My instinct is no.. Do people have thoughts on this? Testing for concurvity also seems to yield different results than tests for collinearity

If anyone is looking for bluer skies I have an invite code to share :) DM me. For context: scitwitter seems to exist there and I’m presently discussing ins and outs of spec grading with a handful of folks in a thread. There are also memes.
