I need to take a hot second here to talk about a real special kind of neurodivergent grief: The grief of recognizing that most people don’t socialize, interact, or see the world the way you do, and that you sorta CAN’T just “be like them”.

@LissysFrauchen Das tut mir so leid. Nee. War es eben nicht.

ellie middleton 🌻 I often have to remind people (at work) that asking why or asking questions is just to help me understand. I show them this so they realise it’s important to allow people to do their job…🙌

Reading since days correspondences of freedom fighters from the 1970s/80s. The fights, messiness, failures, successes -the hopelessness, suicides and love stories. VERY timely. "The growth The light The pain The fight We love We fight We hurt We cry" youtube.com/watch?v=VW_UHY…

I find many men (not all, but many) who are interested in history kinda treat it as a collection of fun facts. Like, they can talk about a war and its battles but not the effect those events had on people, how society shaped around them, how it changed art and culture.

🧵My best friend (Black woman) & I were pregnant at the same time 18 yrs ago. We both had preeclampsia, hers undiagnosed as her symptoms were written off. I was put on bed rest & hospitalized. She was told to relax. A week after she gave birth, the day my son was born, she died.

Stop saying “talk about Sudan” and start talking about it. 7M are displaced. 25k+ are dead. 14M children are at risk. 80% of the population is struggling with food insecurity. The healthcare system has collapsed. Sudan is the worst humanitarian crisis. #KeepEyesOnSudan

Cool so in my kindergarten class there was me (in a wheelchair), one person who used crutches, one person who was deafblind, multiple kids with autism, kids with behavioral conditions, etc. You know why you didn’t see those kids? They placed us in “special” classes.

It was also illegal for disabled people to be in public from the 1860s until the last ordinance was struck down in 1974, so maybe pipe down.

Ratlos.

What we're seeing in Zamzam camp is absolutely catastrophic. We estimate at least 1 child is dying every 2 hours in the camp. A malnutrition crisis is occurring in North Darfur, #Sudan and an urgent response is needed now to save lives. theglobeandmail.com/world/article-…

A full-scale military attack on #Rafah will be catastrophic for the 1.5 million Palestinians sheltering there after four months of war. Rafah is the end of the line. There is nowhere else to flee. #CeasefireNOW

#Rafah Es muss aufhören, die Bilder, die Geschichten, Namen. Es gibt keinen Kontext, der das hier rechtfertigen würde.
