Spartan golfers beat San Gabriel yesterday, 217-281. Adrian Leyva had the low round at 39, 3 over par. Julian Leyva and Ismael Flores each shot 43 and Austin Hernandez and Andrew Etolle each shot 46.

Spartans celebrated “The Next Step” today, with seniors posting flags of their post-high school plans, chalking the quad with their college choices and underclassmen working on their college and career plans using computer searches and apps.

Rocket League will be among the Top 8 in the state and in round 4 of CIF when they face off against LAUSD’s Franklin HS next Wed. They beat Clovis West today and Palos Verdes Wed. Smash varsity and JV are out of CIF after respective losses to Sunny Hills & Palos Verdes this week.

Girls League is hosting Sadie’s in the quad tonight, with a Grease theme that has many students wearing 50s outfits and enjoying photo booths, glow sticks, tacos and dancing under the stars.

At tonight’s Powder Puff game, the seniors beat the juniors 35-7.

Varsity football beat Campbell Hall in their home opener 50-0. They will play at home again next Thursday against Arroyo.

Varsity football beat the Arroyo Knights 21-7 to improve to 2-1 in preseason. Next week the Spartans travel to Baldwin Park on Fri, Sept. 8.

Boys water polo beat Tesoro Tesoro Water Polo in a non-league match, 10-8.
