Excellent start to 2025: We Can Be Weirdos unexpectedly provides a front page scoop. Sure, we all know that Brian Blessed punched a polar bear in the face. But thanks to my ruthless and aggressive interviewing skills, we now know WHY he punched a polar bear.

An Incredible David Lynch Twin Peaks coincidence. #WeCanBeWeirdos with Dan Smith (lead singer/songwriter of Bastille) is out now wherever you get your podcasts.

Got some pretty insane toothache at the moment - which seems to be calmed (for one minute a time only) when I hold water in my mouth. Sounds like it must be an exposed nerve. Any suggestions for other home remedies until I manage to see a dentist? (Hopefully Monday, maybe longer)

Yesterday's fun: here I am surrounded by 500 signed copies of A Beginner's Guide to Breaking and Entering, shortly on their way to independent bookshops around the UK. To get yours... just go to your local bookshop! Here's a handy link. Yes, my hand hurts. uk.bookshop.org/p/books/a-begi…

This week’s We Can Be Weirdos features one of my all time heroes, jon ronson. Here’s a little snippet from the chat. Check out the full ep, wherever you get your pods, to hear what Jon ticked on the Batshit List.

This week on ‘We Can Be Weirdos’ I’m joined by my friend and lover, Andrew Hunter Murray. Listen in to find out if the man who thinks that he is living in a simulation universe, that is being controlled from above by a giant cosmic dweeb, harbours any weirdnesses. Out now.

Brian Wilson will be remembered as a visionary genius, but let's not forget he was the world's biggest fan of the 2007 Eddie Murphy film Norbit. RIP

Beautiful clip of Brian Wilson and George Martin discussing ‘God Only Knows’. I love Brian’s enthusiasm when he thinks George is making the song better. ‘I can’t believe this is happening!’

UPDATE: my son is now 7 and yesterday admitted to me that whenever I tell him off for something, he whispers to himself: “Dad’s being a real dickface today”
