Out campaigning with Catherine Tite Catherine M Tite in Calow, Chesterfield for the Derbyshire County Council elections. Lots of positive conversations on the doorstep and local issues to address.

No surprise that Labour launched its local elections campaign in Bolsover/Chesterfield in Derbyshire. Such a critical election to prevent further damage to adult social care, funding SEND education and fixing potholes. Derbyshire County Council has been a disaster.

It's quite a surprising statement by Nigel Farage to say your previously elected Reform candidates in Derbyshire behaved very badly and were poorly selected. Politics Home are reporting Reform don't even have a plan for local govt. Why take the risk? derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/local-new…

Reform UK should condemn this and withdraw support for their candidate - Staveley North, Whittington and all of Chesterfield deserve so much better.

First session of our Labour campaigning weekend in St Michael's Camberley (Surrey Heath). Good conversations on the doorstep and lots of sunshine!

A key pledge from Labour in Derbyshire is to 'return law and order to our streets'. The police have published data which shows that having extra patrols has reduced anti-social behaviour in half (see list below). Labour Promises - Labour Delivers

I hope everyone enjoyed the BBC drama Reunion. My parents (profoundly deaf from Sheffield) absolutely loved it! It can be really challenging dealing with doctors, hospitals, local gov't and other services. Businesses should actively consider how best to accommodate deaf people

Lots of campaigning in Eckington, Coal Aston, Bolsover and Calow in North Derbyshire. Voters are rightly concerned about Reform winning council seats given their (or UKIP's) track record

This is the link to the horrific SEND Ofsted report for Derbyshire. As stated 'There are widespread and/or systemic failings leading to significant concerns'. You can't trust either the Tories or Reform on SEND provision. reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/44/80…

Lots of leafletting and door knocking in Palterton, Scarcliffe and Bolsover town in North Derbyshire as part of our efforts to get the wonderful Joan Dixon elected for Labour. 44,528 steps later and we're back home. Looking forward to the count tomorrow

An extremely disappointing set of local elections results but there's not much to do other than congratulate the winners, monitor their progress and get back out there campaigning! Running a county council entails tough decisions and budgetary choices so let's see how Reform fare

The two areas I do a lot of campaigning for Labour are North Derbyshire and West Surrey. Uncontrolled migration is frequently raised across the two. The immigration White Paper is a clear attempt to bring migration down in line with Labour-likely voter concerns.

Really happy to see £2bn funding for transport for the East Midlands Mayoral Aithority and the decision to proceed with the Chesterfield/Staveley Regeneration Route (Brimington Bypass) Traffic congestion has been a long-standing problem in Brimington and Staveley on the A619.

Lots of values based policies coming out at the moment - great to see. Looking forward to concerted action on child poverty in the coming months

What a scintillating end to the third England v India Test match. 112-8 with 2 wickets or 81 runs to win. The first day was an oven (see below) - looks more pleasant today
