Large sections of British media and politics have spent decades demonising minorities, migrants and Muslims. That dehumanisation contributed to the racist violence seen in the past month.

There is no equivalence between racist violent attacks on Muslims and the massive demonstrations for Palestine. One is a peaceful protest against our government's complicity in Israel's crimes; the other is targeted racist violence against migrants, Muslims and minorities.

The root cause of the racist riots was the virulent racism of a small minority, egged on by parts of politics, the media and social media.

We strive for maximum unity. That means standing full square against those that wish to divide the working class and our country with racism.
