Last night, the County Council recognized a group of everyday heroes with a special proclamation honoring the Litter Warriors. These incredible volunteers meet every Friday, rain or shine, to tackle litter head-on. Since 2023, they’ve collected over 35,000 pounds of litter.

Thank you to Food Lion and Store Manager Adam Beasley from the Montague Avenue location for their generous donation to the Greenwood County Fire Service. Thanks to their support, our rehab trailer is now stocked with 30 cases of Gatorade and 49 cases of assorted crackers.

Last night, Greenwood County Council honored Erica Brown for her heroic actions on July 1. While driving a Burton Center bus, she saw smoke, stopped, and evacuated all passengers before the bus burst into flames. Thanks to her quick action, no one was injured
