On November 20, 1940, Hungary joined the Axis powers. Lewis Rossinger was born in Hungary and was captured by the Hungarian gestapo. Lewis was able to escape and was captured more than once. To read more about Lewis' story, check out our website here: scholocaustcouncil.org/survivor.php

The next memorial we'll be featuring is the Memorial Stone at Beth Israel Congregation in Florence! The Memorial Stone was dedicated in 1989 to those killed in the death camps of the Holocaust and is surrounded by evergreen shrubs to symbolize how the Jewish people live on.
