The Scallywags have made it to St Tropez, France! After a massive effort by the shore team over the past 2 weeks to get the yacht back into shape, the crew now have a few days of training, with today being the first overcast, wet but very productive day spent out on the water.

Day 2 of crew training saw some blue skies & another productive day from the Scallywags out on the water. The team ticked off more from the jobs list including A3, new M0, J2, J4 sail setups & additional upwind & downwind manoeuvres. Nice one team see you tomorrow for day 3!

The Loro Piana Giraglia regatta series starts today with 4 inshore day races, followed by a longer offshore race from St Tropez, France to Genoa, Italy. Today's first inshore race for Sun Hung Kai Scallywag 100 will be a windward leeward starting at 10am loropianagiraglia.com/en/pages-241/p….

The Scallywags took advantage of the blustery conditions today taking a day of crew training in preparation for our longer ocean races ahead. It was great to have SH back on the helm and our 4 guests & crew to experience the stronger conditions with gusts between 20 to 30 knots.

What a difference a day makes! From yesterday's blustery 30 knots Mistral winds to today's light 5-9 knots the fleet are contending with the full range of conditions here in St Tropez. 2 more windward leeward short races special mention of the 2nd race start where SH nailed it!

Day 4 final day of inshore races saw a 25 nm coastal race in light conditions. After a delayed morning and eventual afternoon start the boss expertly helmed SHK Scallywag 100 around the course. Once again the team & yacht performed well & are ready for tomorrow's ocean race.

Just after sunrise the Scallywags are the first to have emerged from the darkness to see the lighthouse on Giraglia rock!  Despite the overnight light conditions the team have pushed through making better than expected progress. Come on the Scallywags!

A tough race full of snakes and ladders, gusts and full glass-outs and park ups saw the Scallywags rise to the challenge in a nail-biting final few hours saw Magic Carpet E run us down and close on the finish line crossing twice for the Scallywags to win line honours! Well done!

Topping off an amazing Loro Piana Giraglia race the Scallywags attended the prize giving in the luxurious race village at the historic Yacht Club Italiano. Winning both line honours & 1st around Giraglia rock, skipper David Witt accepted the awards on behalf of SH and the team.

The Scallywags have made it safely to Southampton in the UK. No rest for the shore team as the 100's rig gets lifted off the yacht & the hull craned out of the water, up onto a cradle for inspection & maintenance ahead of the 100th Fastnet race later this month. #ScallywagHK

The Scallywags have had a productive 3 days spent on & off the water fine tuning rig & sail setups, & making last minute adjustments. The team took the rib out to visit the Fish's buoy & finally took in a navigation briefing on the big race ahead. Great work team! #ForeverFish

Joined by the boss today the Scallywags enjoyed a good final prep day out on the water ahead of Saturday's Rolex Fastnet race. Once off the water it was back on the jobs list incl. trialling a special Dubarry of Ireland boots delivery. Nice work team! Two more sleeps... #ScallywagHK

Rolex Fastnet Day 1 update. The Scallywags had a good race start, safely navigated SHK Scallywag 100 through the earlier yacht classes, in varying weather, out past the Needles & Isles of Scilly establishing an early lead on Blackjack & Leopard. More to come - go team!

Rolex Fastnet Day 2 update. Day 2 Blackjack was close on our heels match racing for most of the day! As darkness started to fall the Scallywags extended on Blackjack & were first of the 100s to round the majestic Fastnet rock and then rocket off into the night at 20+ knots.

Rolex Fastnet Day 3 update. Blackjack got in some good breeze early on day 3 & extended from SHK Scallywag 100.  The team pushed on through some cloudy patches, rain squalls & even the occasional patch of blue sky & are slowly chipping away at the gap. Come on the Scallywags!

Fastnet race final update The Scallywags spent the day closing the gap with Blackjack but in the lighter conditions ran out of runway, crossing the line in 2nd. Not the result we were going for the team performed well, & wish to thank all of you our fans for your ongoing support.
