Today is International Women's Day and this year's theme is #EmbraceEquity. We want to acknowledge this day in recognition of the women who are part of our workforce within Swansea Bay NHS

I have been fortunate to be supported by and work with inspiring women and men. Together it makes for a strong supportive team. Forging gender equity isn’t limited to women solely fighting the good fight. Everyone plays an important part - Deeroberts @SBUHBDigital

Director of Workforce and OD Debbie Eyitayo said "With a 77% female workforce, it’s important we all play our part to #EmbraceEquity Let’s continue to work together, celebrate diversity and inclusion, speak up against any form of discrimination and create a great Swansea Bay NHS

A huge thank you to BBC Countryfile presenter Sean Fletcher for recording this video message, thanking our staff, while on a visit to Morriston Hospital this week to do a segment on maggot therapy. Catch the episode on BBC One soon!

Speaking up safely in SBUHB Speak Up month kicks off in October in Swansea Bay! It is a campaign that supports NHS colleagues to speak up about concerns and issues, no matter how big or small. Swansea Bay NHS Adran Addysg & DS BIP Bae Abertawe

Speaking up safely in SBUHB This campaign aligns with our ‘One Bay Way’ and our on-going work to create an open, and transparent culture where staff are engaged with and listened to. Swansea Bay NHS Adran Addysg & DS BIP Bae Abertawe

The Call to Action for Speak Up Month this year is ‘Breaking Barriers’, aiming to remove the obstacles which people feel stop them from speaking up. Only by understanding and raising awareness of what these barriers are, can we then start to address them.Swansea Bay NHS

The campaign is a month-long event with themed weeks and an opportunity for a ‘wear green day’ to show your support locally. Week 1- Speak up For Safety (patient and colleagues) Swansea Bay NHS Adran Addysg & DS BIP Bae Abertawe

Wear Green Day- This can be on a day of your choosing within the campaign month, so that you can share your solidarity and have some fun with selfies and team photographs. Speak up For Civility (focus on civility and kindness to others and ourselves) Swansea Bay NHS Adran Addysg & DS BIP Bae Abertawe

Throughout the month there will be opportunities to attend a variety of online and in-person events as well as access material and video blogs during a time that suits your working pattern. Swansea Bay NHS Adran Addysg & DS BIP Bae Abertawe

We would ask supervisors and managers to encourage as many staff as possible to attend sessions or to access resources at a time that suits. Speak up For Civility (focus on civility and kindness to others and ourselves) Swansea Bay NHS Adran Addysg & DS BIP Bae Abertawe
