Sheriff’s Office phone lines have been restored. 911 and non-emergency lines are functioning.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vandalism at Dos Pueblos High School where several windows were shattered overnight. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

*ACCIDENTAL MAP UPDATE IN GENASYS SYSTEM* While completing reoccurring training in the Genasys Protect Mapping Program, a Sheriff’s Office employee accidentally updated a live map showing an evacuation area a few minutes ago.

There are no current protective actions, including evacuation orders in Santa Barbara County.  The map was quickly returned to the correct status and we apologize for any confusion.

Santa Maria- Deputies are investigating a suspicious package in Waller Park and have a section of the north west side of the park and Waller Lane blocked off- please avoid the area.  Updates will be provided as soon as they become available.  The remainder of the park is open.

*SECURE* Isla Vista Elementary- Deputies are attempting to arrest a suspect near Isla Vista Elementary and have instructed students to return inside the building and adults to lock outside doors.  Updates here as they become available.

Isla Vista Elementary: students who walk or bike from school are being released on side streets to avoid the incident area.

Suspect has been safely taken into custody and units will be clearing shortly.

Santa Maria - 400-block of Ray Road: Barricaded suspect wanted for brandishing a machete. Less than 5 residents evacuated from the property, roadways remain open, and there are no impacts to the surrounding areas.

Isla Vista: Deputies are investigating a suspicious package at Chabad UCSB in the 700-block of Camino Pescadero. As a safety precaution, that address has been evacuated while deputies await a response from the Bomb Squad. Details here as they become available. CT 5:03pm
